The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation has been working on establishing a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) to serve Tribal Members, Reservation residents, and Tribal employees.
CDFI’s are specialized financial institutions that serve geographically defined low-income communities and/or populations that lack access to financing. By the prescribed mission, the Tribe’s CDFI will be to improve the financial well-being of people in the Umatilla Reservation community through loans and credit effectively to build personal assets and wealth.
